SORAINEN is organising a seminar: “What changes will the new Insolvency Law bring?”
This summer, the Latvian Parliament (Saeima) adopted the long-expected new Insolvency Law aiming to facilitate settlement of debtor liabilities and restore solvency. Initially planned as statutory amendments to help survive the economic crisis, they later metamorphosed into a new law that has already changed insolvency regulation three times during the last two years. What are the most important changes to debtor and creditor status? Will it be easier or more complicated to begin insolvency and legal protection procedures? How will creditor status change and how to challenge transactions previously concluded? Can we really expect a “boom” in insolvency of private individuals? What has to be done by 1 November when the law comes into force?
These are just some of the topics to be reviewed at the seminar.
The seminar with a presentation in Latvian will be led by
Ģirts Rūda, a partner with SORAINEN Latvian office and head of its Restructuring & Insolvency Team. Total presentation time is 2 hours followed by discussions plus questions and answers.
Please apply for the seminarno later than 15 September by completing the
registration form or calling SORAINEN office: +371 67 365 000 (Kristīne Papāne).
The seminar is free of charge for one representative of each SORAINEN client; for others interested the fee is LVL 50.00 (EUR 71.14) exclusive of VAT. The number of places is limited.
