Advising eBay, the world's leading e-commerce company, on its acquisition of Skype Technologies, the world leader in internet communications with significant operations in Estonia, for a total up-front price of approx EUR 2.1 billion plus performance based consideration. This was one of the largest M&A transactions to date involving a Baltic target.

Advising Google in domain name dispute issues, drafting and sending out cease and desist letters to infringers of Google’s trade mark rights. Representing the client in negotiations with the infringers and successfully recovering the domain names for the client.

In cooperation with Bird & Bird London office representing Apple Inc. in counterfeiting cases before the Lithuanian customs authorities. Drafting cease and desist letters to the importers of counterfeit products, assisting in recognition of counterfeit products and their destruction.

Representing Siemens, as the copyright holder, during the pre-trial process in a dispute with the two largest Lithuanian hospitals over health system software copyright violations. A complex software related dispute of this kind is rather rare in Lithuania.

Continuously consulting HTC, a Taiwanese company and a leading global manufacturer of smartphones and tablets, on IT, IP and personal data protection legal issues in Lithuania.

Advising Microsoft on aspects of its activity in Belarus since 2010, including advice on localisation of agreements, regulatory, labour, insurance, tax and other issues.

Continuously advising Voxbone, a worldwide telecommunications company, in all of its legal matters in Latvia including representation before the Latvian Public Utilities Commission, in negotiations with cooperation partners and dispute matters.

Advising Accel Partners in a private equity investment involving conversion of shareholdings in three Lithuanian IT companies into a UK holding company and subsequent investment by Accel Partners.

Advising MTV Networks in licence agreement negotiations with the Latvian Copyright and Communication Consulting Agency/ Latvian Authors Association (AKKA/LAA).

Advising Cisco, a leading world IT company that designs, manufactures, and sells networking equipment, on the launch of a new set of business online software in Lithuania.

Advising Sybase Solutions, a leader in developing and expanding innovative database technology, on protection of its intellectual property plus representation in a dispute with its Lithuanian distributors and end user over usage of Information Builders software licenses.

Assisting Bitė, a major Baltic telecommunications company, in devising legal solutions for a mobile network modernisation project involving deployment of a brand new nationwide 2G/3G/4G mobile network for Bitė in Latvia. Representing Bitė Lietuva in a dispute brought by the Lithuanian Consumer Institute against all three major mobile operators in Lithuania: Bitė, Omnitel and Tele2.

Advising Charlie Oscar Lima Tango Interactive Entertainment, a new venture by well-known Russian game developer Sergei Klimov, who was voted one of the 20 most influential people in the Russian-speaking games industry and started operation in Lithuania under the name of Charlie Oscar Lima Tango or simply CO LT. CO LT is dedicated to the development and launch of "Gremlins", a turn-based strategy game with card mechanics. The Sorainen team continues providing legal support in all daily legal matters at the CO LT studio.

Advising PZU, the largest Polish life and non-life insurer, on managing transfer of IT licences in its acquisition of the Baltic business of RSA. Sorainen acted as local legal adviser to PZU in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, performed due diligence of the target companies and participated in negotiations. The transaction involved review and management of complex transfer of IT licences in acquisition by PZU of the Baltic business of RSA.

Advising successful start-up Ars Lab with structuring its local and international operations. Ars Lab is about to launch mass production and distribution of an innovative product called “Peres” or “E-Nose”, which allows the user to determine the freshness of food. The product was successfully crowd funded through the Indiegogo platform, where it actually raised EUR 61,000 (the goal was to raise EUR 39,340) and has also attracted major investors.
