Ieva Andersone becomes a registered patent attorney in Latvia

Ieva Andersone, senior associate and attorney-at-law with the SORAINEN Latvian office, recently passed a patent attorney exam. Thus, as of 24 May 2012 Ieva is the only SORAINEN Latvia associate listed with the Latvian register of patent attorneys with a specialisation in trade marks. This means that now Ieva is entitled to represent international clients before the Latvian Patent Authority in trade mark related matters, including international trade mark registration applications.

“Under Latvian Law, those who are not residents of Latvia may be represented before the Latvian Patent Authority only by a professional patent attorney. This is a significant development towards strengthening the capabilities of our Intellectual Property Practice in serving clients in trade mark cases in Latvia,” comments Agris Repšs, head of the SORAINEN Intellectual Property and Dispute Resolution Practices in Latvia.
