Estonia, the northernmost of the three Baltic States, enjoys good flight and ferry connections to northern and central Europe. Estonia is called the most "wired" and e-advanced country in Europe as the first in mobile parking and setting up e-Government.
With Helsinki just 80 km across the Gulf of Finland, Tallinn, the Estonian capital, is a good starting point for a journey through the region. Tallinn is a charming blend of medieval and modern, with a UNESCO World Heritage-listed Old Town next to contemporarily designed skyscrapers (that is, skyscrapers in Estonian terms, where the highest "mountain" is 318 metres).
