Andres Tupits has been practising law since 1997. Andres has extensive experience in issues involving European Union law, financial law, data protection and protection of professional secrecy. He worked as legal counsel and senior legal counsel at the European Central Bank for over seven years, preceded by over four years' service as an in-house lawyer at the Bank of Estonia.

Andres is a lecturer in banking law at the University of Tartu, Faculty of Law. He is lead author of an Estonian-language book on banking law and has published articles in law journals Juridica, International and Comparative Law Journal as well as the ECB Legal Working Paper Series.
