Experience

Mārtiņš Paparinskis, an of counsel, has been practising law since 2003.

Mārtiņš' key areas of expertise are litigation and arbitration, and public international law. With Sorainen, he has assisted in high-profile cases before the administrative and civil courts, including the Supreme Court. In his practice, he has also dealt with public international law, particularly international investment protection law. He has been appointed as an expert in public international law in several high-profile Constitutional Court cases, and has also appeared before the court on behalf of the Parliament.

Mārtiņš has published widely on international economic law issues in local and international legal publications. He has also spoken on international law issues at conferences both locally and internationally. Mārtiņš was a Hauser Research Scholar at New York University in 2009-2010 and a Junior Research Fellow at Merton College Oxford in 2010-2013. Since 2013, he has been a Lecturer at University College London, where he teaches investment protection law and international arbitration, and a book review editor of the prestigious The Journal of World Investment & Trade (JWIT).
