Alexey Anischenko is a partner and head of the SORAINEN Commercial Contracts Team. He is also head of the Dispute Resolution and Tax Teams in Belarus. He has been practising law since 1999.

Alexey's wide dispute resolution practice comprises client representation in commercial arbitration and litigation both in and outside Belarus with particular focus on international trade, administrative and corporate disputes. He has advised and represented clients in many high-profile disputes not only in Belarusian commercial courts, including number of landmark cases considered by Supreme Commercial Court and most recently Supreme Court of the Republic of Belarus, but also under LCIA, ICC, SCC, VIAC and  IAC rules.  

In addition to contentious work Alexey offers extensive experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts in trade, distribution, services, IP/IT, energy and construction. He also has substantial M&A and corporate experience in advising foreign companies and banks on their investments in Belarus since 2006.

Alexey is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and certified mediator accredited by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus. He is the on List of Recommended Arbitrators of the International Arbitration Court of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) and has experience of acting as arbitrator under the ICC Rules.

Alexey is appointed by the Republic of Belarus to the roster of experts for resolution of disputes according to Annex 4 to the Free Trade Area Agreement 2011 of 18 October 2011 and has unique experience of delivering expert report to the Court of the Eurasian Economic Community and acting as the General Advisor to the Economic Court of Commonwealth of Independent States in number of cases related to investment and arbitration, including most recent landmark decision on interpretation of the Article 11 of the Convention for Protection of Investors’ Rights of March 28, 1997 that was nominated by Global Arbitration Review as one of the 10 most important judgements in 2014.

Alexey has been recognised as a leading practitioner in Belarus by all leading directories, including IFLR 1000 for general business law, Chambers Global for general business law, Chambers Europe for dispute resolution, The Legal 500 for general business law, Who's Who Legal for arbitration, insurance and reinsurance, mergers and acquisitions and trade & customs and Best Lawyers for litigation.
