Pekka Puolakka is managing partner of law firm SORAINEN and co-head of the M&A and Private Equity Team in Estonia, which includes the M&A, Private Equity and Privatisation Practices. Pekka has been practising law since 1996.

Pekka has participated in and project-managed numerous cross-border M&A transactions. Within the framework of these transactions, he has also taken part in finance and security planning from the legal perspective. Participating in and managing difficult negotiations is the heart of Pekka's practice.

Pekka has been a recommended practitioner in many publications, including:

• IFLR 1000 in M&A/corporate, project finance, banking and capital markets practices in Estonia praised him as "the fire extinguisher of the firm" and noting that "he sees things in an intelligent manner", and in the M&A/corporate, finance and corporate, banking and finance practices in Latvia;
• The Legal 500 for the corporate and M&A, EU and competition practices in Latvia. The Legal 500 praised Pekka also as one of the leading individuals in corporate and M&A in Estonia;

Pekka has authored numerous lectures for business people, lawyers and politicians in the Baltics and throughout Europe on legal topics related to competition and public procurement, tax, M&A, and generally doing business in the Baltics and in Europe. Pekka is a board member of several organisations, including a company listed on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
