    Continuously providing legal advice to a major global generic pharmaceuticals manufacturer related to pharmaceutical patents and litigation options in the Baltics.

    Enabling a leading global technology company to combat unlicensed use of its trade mark and goodwill involving illegal use of the trade mark and images of the client's products in advertising. Services started with a warning letter to the infringer and ended in victory with a settlement and cessation of the infringement. Other services include regular advice on copyright laws in the Baltics.

    Protecting G4S, the leading global international security solutions group, in a trade mark infringement case against local company, which had refused to cease using the client's trade mark in its domain and company names. The case was settled within a month of SORAINEN's filing a claim against the opponent.

    Acting for Mast-Jägermeister, producer of world famous liqueurs, in landmark trade mark infringement litigation against an Estonian drinks manufacturer imitating the client's legendary JÄGERMEISTER trade mark. The court found that the opponent's lookalike product label ÜRDIMEISTER infringed the client's trade mark rights and ordered the opponent to stop using the infringing label.

    Successfully representing Legendijuhtimise, an Estonian hotel and spa operator, in trade mark litigation. A competitor alleged that the client's trade mark infringed their identical trade mark and SORAINEN asserted that their mark was merely descriptive. The courts dismissed the opponents claim, granted SORAINEN's claim and cancelled the opponent's trade mark registration, dismissing the opponent's appeal.

    Representing Tallegg, a major Estonian food manufacturer, in a trade mark infringement matter against a competitor. An injunction was granted for the seizure of thousands of cartridges of the competitors' products. In a first ever decision in Estonia the court ordered the handing over of gross profits of the infringer instead of simply awarding damages. The opponent's counteraction based on the client's mark being descriptive and customary was dismissed.

    Representing Gulf International Lubricants, a world-renowned manufacturer of lubricants, in a claim resulting in a landmark judgement where the Estonian Supreme Court affirmed that a trade mark proprietor can ban use of its trade mark in the domain name of a third person and a reseller may not use a trade mark falsely suggesting a special relationship between unofficial reseller and trade mark proprietor.

    Representing a leading Latvian IT company in settling a multimillion intellectual property dispute with a former employee, advising on interpretation of the settlement agreement in the light of Latvian copyright law on software and sui generis rights in databases plus legal due diligence of contracts with authors and employees.

    Representing Kaspars Dimiters, a well-known Latvian poet, in a copyright dispute with a young Latvian writer who claims he wrote the script for a popular musical play being staged in a major theatre. The case, which caught wide public attention and involves fundamental copyright issues in the field of music and musical plays, is currently pending.

    Representing Burger King, a leading global fast food chain, in cooperation with CMS Cameron McKenna Warsaw office in a complex dispute over the domain name. The court ordered the infringing company to transfer the domain name to the client. This was the first decision of its kind in Lithuania.

    Representing a leading global soft drinks producer in the first significant criminal case regarding counterfeit beverages. A civil court claim for infringement of the trade mark owner's rights, unfair competition and compensation of pecuniary and non-pecuniary damage has been filed.

    Defending the trade mark rights of a major international multimedia entertainment company, sending cease and desist letters to infringers of the client's trade marks and trade dress, filing trade mark oppositions against infringing trade marks and assisting the client in registration of domain names.

    Protecting a leading global industrial silicon manufacturer in a chain of trade mark, industrial design and unfair competition disputes, advising its Lithuanian representatives and representing the client in filing trade mark oppositions with the State Patent Bureau.

    Representing Rautaruukki, a major Nordic supplier of metal-based components, systems and integrated systems to the construction and mechanical engineering industries, in a trade mark infringement claim regarding illegal use in competitors business and domain names, on websites as well as for designation of products.

    Assisting Eesti Internet Foundation, the Estonian ccTLD manager, in drafting the Rules of the Domain Disputes Committee, a newly established alternative dispute resolution body for settling .ee disputes.

    Assisting one of the largest online gambling operators in the European market in a trade mark infringement matter where an Estonian company had registered in its name .ee domain name identical to the client trade mark. The matter was settled without resorting to litigation, the domain name was transferred to SORAINEN, who holds it in trust for the client.

    Representing Stockmann, a leading Nordic department store, for many years in registering of new trade marks. In total SORAINEN has registered more than 50 trade marks for Stockmann in Latvia and more than 20 in Lithuania.

    Representing Nordic Gaming, one of Europe's fastest growing online gaming companies, in a Community trade mark registration matter, involving opposition proceedings.
