International conference: Real estate and construction in the Baltics 2011: markets, developments, forecasts

On 15 April, SORAINEN Latvia partner Ģirts Rūda delivered a presentation on "How not to step on the rake again? Legal experience gained in the real estate field during the crisis" at the conference "Real estate and construction in the Baltics 2011: markets, development, forecasts". The conference was organised by Riga Management School (RMS). Conference attendees had the possibility to meet real estate professionals including the head of Riga City Council development committee, the head of the corruption prevention division of KNAB (The Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau), the chairman of the board of the Latvian Association of Property Appraisers and other major real estate and construction market leaders in the Baltics, Scandinavia and Russia.

The following topics were raised and discussed at the conference:

  • Recent changes in the European and Baltic real estate and construction markets.
  • What tendencies and changes will determine development of the real estate sector in the future?
  • What future growth can be achieved in the construction sector?
  • Cash flow in real estate lending in the new economic cycle.
  • How are real estate consumers changing and how much are they ready to pay for real estate?
  • Green construction – fashion trend, expensive trap, or hidden profit source?
