International conference: Sport in the Republic of Belarus: actual problems of legal regulation and perspectives on sports law

On 31 March 2011, the first ever conference devoted to practical issues of legal regulation of sport in Belarus took place in Minsk. The conference was very well attended both by legal and sports professionals as well as by the general public. Among other speakers, Belarusian high officials shared their experience and presented new developments in sports law. More than 300 guests at the conference enjoyed the possibility to listen to the Minister of Sport and Tourism, the chairman of the Supreme Commercial Court of the Republic of Belarus, and representatives of the Parliament and Presidential Administration.

SORAINEN Belarus partner and head of the regional Commercial Contracts Team Alexey Anischenko took part in one of the conference panels and delivered a presentation on legal regulation of financial investment in sport and sponsorship, comparing Belarusian law and practice with modern international trends and practices, including those of the EU.

The event was organised by the Presidential Sporting Club, in cooperation with the Belarusian Republican Union of Lawyers and JurSpectr centre of legal information.
