Extensive amendments to the Public Procurement Law came into force on 1 August 2012 and new proposals are being drafted for the next set of amendments. The LCCI has actively engaged in improving this law.

The seminar on Public Procurement Law provided an opportunity to meet LCCI members, other entrepreneurs and experts and to find answers to topical issues. Legal experts talked about the most important amendments, as well as the planned changes in regulations at the Latvian and European Union levels.

SORAINEN was represented by senior associate and specialist in public procurement law, Raivo Raudzeps, who discussed specific aspects of public procurement:

  • significant changes to concluded procurement contracts;
  • attracting sub-contractors.

The event also hosted:

  • Artis Lapiņš, an expert from the Ministry of Finance, Legislative Department, State Resource Policy Section;
  • Ingus Valtiņš, a Livland lawyer and member of LCCI’s public procurement working group.
