The Latvian Sustainable Building Council organises the “Green Building Professional” course in Latvia, which has been developed by the World Green Building Council. The target audience is clients ordering construction designs, developers, financiers, construction project managers and other construction professionals such as architects, engineers and builders.

The study programme, which runs from April to December 2013, consists of 10 modules through which the participants will acquire knowledge on managing, funding, planning and developing green building (sustainable construction) projects, and their implementation, the development tendencies of green building, assessment methods and European Union (EU) regulatory enactments in the field of green building.

One of the study modules, which took place on 12 June 2013, was devoted to the legal requirements and voluntary certification of green buildings. The presentation also included an insight into energy efficiency certificates and cover a number of recent sustainable construction projects in Latvia.
