As part of the European business support network project, the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) was organising a free seminar on “Franchising to increase exports”. Among the speakers was the SORAINEN Latvia senior associate Viktorija Jarkina.

The aim of the seminar was to introduce Latvian companies to franchising – a new model for entering export markets. This model is increasingly being used by companies all over the world to expand the number of sales points and raise turnover and income, as well as to promote brand awareness.

Entrepreneurs who wish to reach external markets by exploiting the franchise business model were invited to participate in the seminar.

During the seminar, lecturers touched on the following topics:

  • Why are more and more companies around the world choosing the franchise business model in order to expand?
  • How can you determine if the franchise business model is suitable for your business?
  • What does it take to develop a successful franchise?
  • The development of a successful franchise – the experience of a Latvian company.
