Professional conference: Audit, Taxes and Accounting 2014

On 12 December 2014, RMS-FORUM in cooperation with the Latvian Accountants’ Association and experts in the finance field organised the 17th annual professional conference on “Audit, Taxes and Accounting 2014”. The conference introduced accountants, auditors, entrepreneurs, managers and tax specialists to the latest changes to legislation in the field in 2015 and will answer the following questions – What you must know? What will change? How to avoid making mistakes?

Those attending the conference had the opportunity to obtain information and engage in discussions about current issues in accounting and financial reporting, tax changes as well as changes in audit regulatory requirements. At the conference practical examples and case studies were discussed and analysed.

Experts in the field of audit and accounting, one of whom is SORAINEN partner Jānis Taukačs, answered these and many other questions during the conference:

  • What requirements will be imposed on accountants and auditors as a result of the drafting of the new legislation?
  • What amendments are planned to tax laws?
  • What is common and what are the differences in the approach of the audit process for the state, local government and enterprises and private companies?
  • What is the State Revenue Service’s recently launched tax collection practice?
  • What are the proposed amendments to the law on the legal responsibility of accountants?
  • Latvia – outsourcing hub for Western Europe – tax problems and solutions?

Speakers invited to the conference this year included: Ilmārs Šņucins, Dace Šodnaka – the Latvian Ministry of Finance, Santa Garanča – the Latvian State Revenue Service, Elita Krūmiņa – the State Control, Andrejs Ponomarjovs – the Latvian Accountants’ Association, Ilze Palmbaha – the Latvian Association of Accounting Outsourcing, and many others.
