Services included drafting complex multiparty gas supply documentation, advising in negotiations with the Estonian Competition Authority on pricing policies and amending legislation plus representation in administrative and court proceedings over natural gas pricing.

    Advising the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on a EUR 150 million loan to Latvenergo, Latvia's national electric energy company, for construction of a new combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) as part of total project financing exceeding EUR 360 million co-financed by the European Investment Bank aimed at significant energy infrastructure improvements and reduced emissions.

    Guiding Gaasienergia, a major Estonian natural gas provider and subsidiary of a Finnish natural gas provider, through complex regulatory, contractual and pricing issues, in negotiations on vital issues of compliance, dominance and pricing with the Estonian Competition Authority. Other services include advice on a take-or-pay gas supply agreement, recovery of debts and infrastructure investments.

    Guiding a major Finnish heat producer on bidding and acquiring a municipal heat supply company in Estonia. Services included support in negotiations, pre- and post-acquisition legal due diligence, highly complex corporate, restructuring, contractual, regulatory, competition and compliance issues.

    Performing research and analysis for L&T, a daughter company of Lassila & Tikanoja - Finnish public listed company specialising in environmental management and property and plant maintenance, on tariff regulations for waste management services. The task included assessing issues applicable to public utilities providers in the waste management sector and researching the potential impact of new regulations and changes in the law.

    Protecting a global plastic ware producer on issues of product liability and regulatory consequences in Latvia. Services included consulting on product recall procedures in Latvia, cooperating with the responsible state authorities, drafting product recall applications and managing the process to its successful outcome.

    Assisting Latvijas Valsts Radio un televīzijas centrs, a broadcaster of television and radio programmes in Latvia, by analysing regulatory issues under media and broadcasting laws, assessing the client's broadcasting duties and rights and conditions entitling curtailment of terrestrial broadcasting in light of the launch of digital television.

    Advising Enerstena, a major Lithuanian specialist in assembling, insulating and plating works of steam, water heating and heating plants, in negotiations with Grigiškės, one of the oldest and largest paper mills in Lithuania, on a EU-financed EUR 5 million contract to deliver and install a steam boiler plus advice on other system reconstruction / installation deals, including public procurement tenders.

    Advising a Lithuanian public enterprise established by several municipalities for waste management administration in a dispute over performance of a contract for collection and use of landfill gas.

    Advising official Baltic automobile importer on setting up a waste battery and accumulator processing, collecting and recycling system in line with EU requirements plus assisting with registration at the Lithuanian Producers and Importers Registry with ongoing assistance in legal compliance matters.

    Assisting the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Lithuania in arranging construction of the Palanga bypass, a PPP project estimated at approx LTL 26 million (approx EUR 7.5 million). Services involved preparing a feasibility study, draft project agreement and tender documentation. The project is one of six pilot private finance initiative (PFI) projects selected by the Lithuanian Government to be implemented under the new PFI regulation.

    Advising Alstom, a world leader in transport infrastructure, power generation and transmission, in a EUR 950 million tender for a new oil shale power plant. This transaction is believed to be the largest Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) transaction by volume in the Baltic region in 2010.
