Experience

Mārtiņš Paparinskis, an of counsel, has been practising law since 2003.

Mārtiņš' key areas of expertise are litigation & arbitration and international public law. With SORAINEN, he has assisted in high-profile cases before the administrative and civil courts, including the Supreme Court. He has also focused on international law practice, particularly on investment protection matters. He was appointed as an expert in international law in two high profile Constitutional Court cases dealing with the Latvian-Russian Border Treaty and the Lisbon Treaty, and has been cited with approval by the Constitutional and Supreme Courts on matters of international law.

Mārtiņš is a frequent author on international economic law issues in the local and international legal media. He has also spoken on international law issues at conferences both locally and internationally. Mārtiņš was a Hauser Research Scholar at New York University 2009-2010, and has returned to Merton College, Oxford, as a Junior Research Fellow from the autumn term 2010.
