Veikko Puolakainen, a senior associate, has been practising law since 1998. Before becoming a member of the Estonian Bar Association, he worked as in house counsel for a major retail establishment and a real estate management company.

Veikko specialises mainly in judicial dispute resolution, representing clients mostly in civil and administrative matters across all court instances of the Estonian court system. In addition, he has represented clients before extrajudicial dispute resolution bodies (lease committee, labour dispute committee) and in challenge proceedings.

Veikko has wide knowledge and experience mostly of civil and administrative court proceedings. During disputes he has thoroughly dealt with the law of obligations (disputes resulting from contractual and extra-contractual relations), employment law, property law and bankruptcy law (including representing clients in bankruptcy proceedings and in filing claims, also in cross-border proceedings).

In addition, Veikko has considerable experience of fields of public law such as general issues related to construction and planning law, administrative proceedings, ownership reform issues (privatisation, restitution of property) and tax law (tax disputes). His experience in representing a client in a capital market manipulation case can be considered unique. Working in an international law firm, Veikko also has significant experience in recognition proceedings of court resolutions from abroad.
