Mihkel Miidla, a senior associate, specialises mainly in information technology and data protection, as well as telecommunication practice. In recent years Mihkel has been heavily involved in most of the more complex IT and telecoms related cases at SORAINEN. As a specialist in IT law, Mihkel provides excellent support in cases where IT and IP are closely related.

In addition he has significant experience in the field of service and trade contracts, having assisted many local and international businesses in trade deals as well as in setting up trade operations in Estonia and abroad. He has gained valuable experience in product and service related issues ranging from advertising and labelling requirements to complex industry specific competition (e.g. automotive industry, energy and utilities) and regulatory issues.

Mihkel has extensive knowledge in the personal data protection field and has contributed to Privacy International's multijurisdictional study "European Privacy and Human Rights 2010" funded by the European Commission and several other EC studies ranging from SPAM and spyware to eHealth and electronic documentation delivery. Before joining SORAINEN, Mihkel worked as a legal trainee in the Civil Chamber of the Estonian Supreme Court.
