About me

As a senior associate with the firm’s Commercial and Regulatory practice, I focus on competition law. My main mission with Sorainen is to share competition law knowledge and experience with our clients in order to reduce competition risks in their daily business activities, as well as to find the most appropriate solutions once risks have been identified.

Professional highlights

Complex cases with high stakes. I view competition law as one of the most exciting areas of legal practice. Most cases, regardless of whether they are related to cartels or abuse of a dominant position, are not straightforward, while the stakes are always high because of the considerable financial sanctions imposed in cases involving breach. Previous experience at the Latvian Competition Council as deputy head of their legal department and as head of the cartel department provided an extremely useful background to my current daily professional working experience.

Consultations in the pharmacy industry. As the head of the firm’s Life Sciences & Healthcare Sector Group in Latvia, I follow current developments in this manifold sector and have a good knowledge of the legal issues faced by clients in this sector.

Merger control. M&A deals often require approval from the competition authorities. I have assisted clients in numerous merger cases before the Competition Council, and my experience includes some of the largest and strategically most significant transactions in Latvia and the Baltics within key industries.
