Sorainen Estonia advised Hobbiton, the Estonian handicraft log home producer, on its merger with another Estonian log house producer, Saulerman. The merger agreement was signed last week. The company will continue operating under the Hobbiton name. With 52 employees on the payroll, the company is a substantial employer in the local community in Southern Estonia.
Notes Andrus Prangli, management board member of Hobbiton: “The merger enables us to improve efficiency of production even more and keep costs under control.”
Hobbiton started operations in 1997. In over 20 years of existence the company has delivered hundreds of bigger and smaller handicraft wooden house sets. The main market has been Norway but they have also sold log houses to Estonia, Finland, France, Russia, Spain, the United States, and to Martinique in the Caribbean.
