About me

As a senior associate specialising in company law, corporate governance and management board liability matters, I have helped clients in domestic and cross-border merger and business restructuring projects. Good corporate governance helps to build stronger and more purposeful businesses.

I am looking forward to helping businesses navigating through the ESG jungle, mainly in relation to issues with sustainable supply chains. My expertise mainly comes from the corporate governance angle, which focuses on the main driving forces in corporate behaviour. I look into whether companies have adequate governance systems in place and help to improve them.

Professional highlights

Doing business in Latvia. I have assisted many international companies to operate in Latvia, from starting their business to exiting the market and liquidation.

Cross-border corporate mobility. I have advised large companies on business restructuring matters and cross-border mergers covering both the planning and structuring stage as well as project implementation.

Training and advice to board members. I help company board members to strengthen their risk management by providing training and advice on corporate governance matters.

Developing the legal framework. I enjoy contributing to research projects with a cross-border angle as these help in understanding and interpreting the complexities of the legal framework that applies to cross-border issues.

Recent projects include a Maastricht University project on cross-border corporate mobility in the EU; a Lexidale and Bech-Bruun study on the Cross-border Mergers Directive; and a London School of Economics study on directors’ liability.
