Creating a healthy environment through innovation

The projects we support are expected to contribute to our core purpose, which is increasing prosperity and wellbeing in our region. A healthy environment is a prerequisite for that, so this year we are looking for environment-focused companies, non-governmental organizations, startups, projects, services and initiatives that aim to do good in local and global communities in any way that may be called innovative.

“A healthy environment plays a key role in meeting many sustainable development goals. The world will need to step up and put bigger efforts into finding better solutions to climate change, pollution and biodiversity loss, in order to transform societies and economies. Business plays a key part in this change as well by developing products and services to fight climate change, reduce pollution and waste, find new solutions for a green and circular economy, preserve biodiversity in the oceans and seas, ensure environmental rights and governance, and create many other innovations in the environmental field. Innovations in the environmental field are very important to our business and are in line with our sustainability goals” says Leda Iržikevičienė, chief operating officer at Sorainen.

Criteria for applicants

Innovative projects in the environmental field are our priority this year. Other innovative projects in need of legal and tax assistance may also apply. Any applicants are welcome, including non-governmental organizations, private companies, government agencies, and startups.

Projects can be either local or international. Initiatives that cover our region would be ideal candidates.

We provide assistance on legal and tax matters, from establishing an entity and employment matters to data protection and fundraising. The selected participants will receive an agreed number of pro bono hours that can be used for any legal services except for disputes until the end of the calendar year. We want to help as many organisations as possible, while also forming long-term partnerships with the projects being assisted.

About the Shared Mission programme

The Shared Mission programme was originally launched by Sorainen in 2020 to support the faster recovery of our region from the health and economic crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic by giving free legal and tax advice to projects working towards this goal. After the success of the Shared Mission programme 2020, we decided to make it a part of our sustainability strategy and run it annually. So far, we have supported more than 40 projects across four countries. You can read more about it here.
