On 17 May 2023, together with the public association Belarusian Republican Union of Lawyers and the International Arbitration Court “Chamber of Arbitrators at the Union of Lawyers”, we jointly hosted the business game International Commercial Arbitration. The format of the business game was an improvised arbitration hearing on procedural issues, conducted under the Arbitration Rules of the Chamber of Arbitrators, based on the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules.
Delivery of high-tech equipment by sea; issues, topical as never before, such as compliance with the written from of an arbitration agreement in case of electronic transactions; conducting online hearings – all of these were the subject of over three hours of lively debates between teams of law students from the BSU and BSEU, in three rounds of oral hearings. In a rigorous battle in the final round, the team of BSEU students prevailed.
Alexey Anischenko, arbitrator, mediator, partner at the Dispute Resolution & Risk Management practice group, and Palina Maslionkina, KMI specialist, acted as arbitrators of the business game.
