Eva Berlaus is an office managing partner of SORAINEN Latvia and head of the Corporate Advisory Team, which includes the Corporate, Employment and Investment Incentives Practices. She also heads the M&A and Private Equity Team, which includes our M&A, Private Equity and Privatisation Practices. Eva has been practising law since 1996.

Eva has participated as counsel in major cross-border M&A deals in Latvia for both sellers and buyers and on behalf of listed and non-listed companies in business sectors such as banking, media, utilities, food, construction, property development, energy, consumer finance and environment. Eva has sound experience in advising on competition law issues relevant to merger control, asset transfer and related matters.

Eva is a recommended practitioner by leading international legal directories:

  • The Legal 500 recognises her in corporate and M&A practices describing Eva as "particularly good; brisk, [...] very articulate and always available" and "friendly, thorough, efficient, moving things forward without wasting time";

Eva is actively involved in development of the Latvian legal system. She has also delivered presentations on business law at seminars in Latvia and throughout the Baltics. She has written articles for local and international publications on business law and co-authored the SORAINEN book Foreign Investor in the Baltics.
