Sorainen advised Nordcurrent, the largest game development studio in the Baltic region, on acquisition of Ukrainian game development and animation studio Blam! Games Studios. After the acquisition, the Odessa-based company, currently employing 40 people, became the Nordcurrent Odessa office. The value of the transaction is undisclosed.

Blam! Games Studios, established in 2009 in Ukraine, has been collaborating with Nordcurrent since 2014. The companies co-created several video games for PCs and mobile devices, one of the best known being Make it Big in Hollywood.

In the 16 years since Nordcurrent was established in Lithuania, the company has become the biggest player in the video games market in the Baltic region based on production, employee numbers and revenue. Nordcurrent currently employs 110 people (excluding the Polish and Ukrainian offices) and has already created over 50 video games for various platforms.

Notes Nordcurrent CEO Victoria Trofimova: “We are very happy to welcome game developers in Odessa to join our growing team. We are always on the lookout for local and foreign game development talents. We are sure that expanding cultural diversity and creative capacity will help us develop more attractive and engaging games for a global audience.”

Sorainen advised Nordcurrent on all legal matters related to this outbound acquisition. The Sorainen team was led by partner Sergej Butov.
