Diverse expertise, one business services system
Sorainen’s offices operate together as a single ecosystem under a single ISO 9001-certified quality management system. We use cutting-edge technology to share our experience and know-how between our offices, teams and sector groups. When our lawyers are confronted with an issue they can immediately draw on the vast experience Sorainen holds across all our jurisdictions, meaning they don’t have to spend so much time on research and can focus more on creating legal solutions that are just right for the client’s needs.
Sorainen employs modern legal technologies & AI:
Green Meadow Document Drafter – a document automation tool, and Litera Clause Companion – a legal clause database
Luminance, a form of artificial intelligence technology which streamlines M&A due diligence processes
xLaw, a knowledge management system helping lawyers enhance efficiency
A shared mission
At Sorainen, we are committed to making the world a better place. In order to make a difference, we support initiatives that we believe in.
To support faster recovery of our region from the health and economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, in April 2020 we launched the Shared Mission programme. This programme is dedicated to supporting projects in the Baltics and Belarus that are set up to help solve COVID-19 related issues. We have already worked or are currently working with five selected organisations, providing them free-of-charge legal and tax services. EUR 100,000 worth of support is to be distributed through this programme.
Sorainen Estonia supports the international educational exchange organisation Youth for Understanding in Estonia, the annual “Let’s Do It” (“Teeme ära”) environmental clean-up campaign, Tartu University Hospital Children’s Foundation and the charity company MTÜ Naerata Ometi in addition to the “Let’s Donate Time“ („Annetame aega“) charity, which seeks to engage more people in charity initiatives. The Estonian office also has a long-standing cooperation with the Art Museum of Estonia, as well as Bethel’s Centre of Pastoral Care, which helps at-risk children and families.
Sorainen Latvia co-operates with and supports the activities of the Latvian Children’s Palliative Care Society. The Latvian office also takes part in the Santa Fun Run in Old Riga to raise funds for the rehabilitation of sick children.
Sorainen Lithuania supports the Vilnius International Film Festival “Kino Pavasaris”. In 2019 the firm opened a coworking space for students at Vilnius University as a ‘thank you’ gift to our Alma Mater for nurturing so many great talents.
An important goal for Sorainen is improving the economic and legal environment in the countries where we practise law. As a member of organisations such as bar associations, we often advise on drafting legislation.
In the Baltic States, Sorainen was among the founders of the local private equity and venture capital associations EstVCA, LatVCA and LitVCA, and is on a mission to build a viable ecosystem for capital markets.
