Webinar “Progress of the EU Pay Transparency Directive in the Baltic states”

Place: Microsoft Teams Live
Time: 14:00 EET time, March 10, 2026
Working language: English

The EU Pay Transparency Directive is moving from theory to practice – and for employers in the Baltics, the clock is already ticking.

By June 2026, the directive must be implemented across the EU. While that may sound far away, many of its key obligations – such as employee categorisation, pay structures and job evaluation – are expected to be in place from Day One. At the same time, implementation progress and regulatory approaches differ significantly between Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, creating uncertainty for businesses operating across the region.

In this free webinar, Sorainen’s employment law experts from all three Baltic states will walk you through where each country stands today, what is already known, and what employers should realistically expect next.

We will look at*:

  • the latest legislative developments in Lithuania, including insights from the second draft law
  • what is currently known in Estonia and Latvia, where no draft legislation has yet been published
  • and how national approaches may differ despite a shared EU framework

Special attention will be paid to the challenges faced by international and regional employers, particularly those applying a centralised approach to HR and pay structure matters, which will need local adjustment once national rules are adopted.

The webinar is free of charge.

Why this matters

The Pay Transparency Directive is not just a reporting exercise. It affects how companies:

  • structure roles and job categories
  • assess and compare work of equal value
  • manage pay data, internal processes and employee communications
  • prepare for increased transparency and potential scrutiny

Getting this wrong – or starting to prepare too late – may result in compliance risks, operational disruption and reputational impact.

Who should attend

This webinar is particularly relevant for:

  • international companies with branches or subsidiaries in Lithuania, Latvia or Estonia
  • HR leaders, legal counsels and compliance professionals
  • international law firms advising clients with operations in the Baltic region
  • decision-makers involved in pay structures, HR strategy or workforce planning

* Please note that the content of the webinar may be subject to change if relevant legislative drafts are adopted prior to the date of the webinar.
