The Sorainen Dispute Resolution and Corporate and M&A practice groups are now in the top tier in three out of four countries where we operate, with our Estonian Dispute Resolution Practice Group making it to band 1, according to the recently released Chambers Global rankings. Our Lithuanian practice groups have been on top the longest – the Dispute Resolution Practice Group has been demonstrating top performance in the rankings for 13 years and the Corporate and M&A Practice Group for 9 years.

Sorainen Estonia’s Dispute Resolution Practice Group takes the highest position

Our Estonian Dispute Resolution Practice Group is ranked in the top tier, with its leader Carri Ginter recognised as a band 1 advisor. According to Carri, leaders have to develop talents around them in order to take the team to the top. “Talents don’t feel happy staying behind the star lawyers’ back, they want to be where the action happens,” he notes.

Our Lithuanian Dispute Resolution Practice Group has won the band 1 category for 13 years in a row, with Kæstutis Švirinas securing his band 1 ranking as well.

Our Latvian Dispute Resolution Practice Group remains in band 2, with its leader Agris Repšs ranking in the first category. Chambers Global notes that Agris boasts an extensive track record and a business-minded approach. Our Belarusian Dispute Resolution Practice Group remains in band 1 for the third year already with Alexey Anischenko firmly keeping his band 1 lawyer position.

Watch out for up-and-coming lawyers: Kadri Härginen of Estonia plus Raivo Raudzeps and Viktorija Jarkina in Latvia.

Decade of top performance for Lithuania

Our Lithuanian Corporate and M&A Practice Group has been ranked in band 1 for 9 years in a row, with Laimonas Skibarka remaining a top-tier lawyer. Our Estonian team also secures their band 1 position for the 5th year in a row, with Toomas Prangli ranked in band 1.

Our Latvian Corporate and M&A Practice Group remains in band 2, with Eva Berlaus securing her band 1 ranking and receiving praise as a good listener who keeps calm in tense situations. Our Belarusian Corporate and M&A Practice Group has also secured a band 1 position for four years in a row. Aku Sorainen is recognised as an eminent practitioner in the field.

An up-and-coming lawyer in the corporate/commercial field is Paul Künnap of Sorainen Estonia, who was recently promoted to partnership, along with 3 of our other lawyers, bringing the number of Sorainen partners to 33.
