We are pleased to welcome data protection and cybersecurity expert Miglė Petkevičienė, who becomes Sorainen partner as of 2 June 2025.
“I am very happy that Miglė is joining our partnership team. I know her as a proactive professional who devotes maximum attention to her clients, offers them the best solutions, and excels in teamwork. At Sorainen, we cultivate exactly that kind of working culture. I am certain that by working together we will deliver even greater value to our clients and continue to grow at pace,” says Saulė Dagilytė, the Lithuanian country managing partner.
Miglė Petkevičienė brings over seventeen years of experience in data protection, cybersecurity compliance, and life sciences. She advises clients from the technology, finance, industrial, food and beverage, and entertainment sectors, represents them before regulatory bodies, and has been actively involved in implementing the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in Lithuania. Together with partners Dr Daivis Švirinas and Monika Mališauskaitė-Vaupšienė, she will co-lead the Lithuania Commercial & Regulatory practice group and, alongside expert Irma Kunickė, will further develop Sorainen’s data protection and cybersecurity practices.
“By joining the international Sorainen team, I see an opportunity to offer businesses not just theoretical guidance but a practical toolkit. GDPR, NIS2, and other EU standards become manageable when you have a clear action plan. We will help companies grow confidently, knowing their data and reputation are protected. I am convinced that, together with my new colleagues, we will build the strongest practice in this field in Lithuania and across the Baltic states,” says M. Petkevičienė.
Celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, we have already garnered international recognition: in the spring’s Legal 500 rankings, the firm achieved 30 top-tier positions out of 31 available in the Baltic region. In the Chambers and Partners guides, Sorainen earned the highest—Band 1—ranking in 20 practice areas and became the only regional firm whose teams were ranked exclusively in Bands 1 or 2. Our leadership is founded not only on professional excellence but also on a strong commitment to gender equality—today, 40 percent of Sorainen’s partners are women.
