I am head of the firm‘s Startup sector group in Lithuania. I specialise in M&A transactions, as well as private equity and venture capital investments in startups and technology companies. I also advise clients on corporate and commercial law matters.
M&A deals in the technology sector. My main specialisation is assisting companies developing technology services and products. Among the key requirements these clients have for a legal service provider are speed and accuracy. The phrase “the early bird gets the worm” carries extra weight in this sector – I had a case when the distance from the letter of intent to signing the contract had to be covered in a week, including conducting legal due diligence and several rounds of negotiations in between.
The transformation of the Sparta sock factory into CyberCity. Among my most significant projects has been representing Tesonet – one of the largest Lithuanian technology companies – in acquiring part of the company managing the site of the Sparta factory in Naujamiestis. The aim of the project is to create a comfortable working space for the most advanced companies and startups in Vilnius. Now the only object remaining from the old factory is a chimney, and the modern technology hub CyberCity is developing in the area. The largest real estate lease deal of 2019 in Lithuania was concluded within the framework of this transaction. With this deal the investor secured office space for thousands of its employees on this site.
Improving the investment environment. While working at the Lithuanian Ministry of Finance, I actively contributed to improving the business climate for both large companies and startups. I conducted research and was a member of an expert group whose goal was to improve the conditions for companies seeking to raise capital through the regulated stock market. I also led an inter-institutional working group responsible for developing regulatory guidelines for young companies on the subject of alternative modes to funding.
