We advised the international bank Citibank on providing a EUR 30 million loan to Linas Agro, the agribusiness company of Akola Group, one of the largest agricultural and food production groups in the Baltic states.

“This financing will help us plan seasonal grain procurement flows more smoothly, manage working capital more efficiently, diversify funding sources between local and global financial partners, and further strengthen our operations,” said Jonas Bakšys, CEO of Linas Agro, in the statement.

“This transaction reflects Citi’s commitment to supporting key international trade flows and financing leading participants in the agricultural sector in the Baltic region,” said Stanislava Taneva, Head of Corporate Banking for the Central Europe region at Citibank, in the statement.

Linas Agro will make use of a form of trade finance that enables the company to finance raw material purchases efficiently. The company operates nine entities in the Baltic states and covers the entire value chain – from seed sales to grain procurement.
