About me

As a specialist in the dispute resolution field, my work involves assisting clients in a wide variety of civil and administrative disputes and pre-trial investigations. Previous diverse experience ranges from representing Vilnius City Municipality as an in-house lawyer in the courts to working as a judge’s assistant in the civil cases division of the Lithuanian Court of Appeal. This background allows me to always see the full picture and offer creative solutions in complex cases.

Professional highlights

Compensation of damages. My extensive experience in claims for compensation of damages linked to quality of goods or services supplied includes, for example, representing a major international food processing industry technology supplier in negotiations with a Lithuanian food producer over quality of equipment in a claim totalling EUR 2.5 million where the parties reached an amicable settlement of their dispute. I am also part of the team successfully representing a well-known international packaging systems producer in a case concerning compensation for damage where the customer and its insurers are seeking to prove that the quality of our client’s product was faulty and caused a fire ‒ the total amount of the claim amounts to EUR 500 thousand. Additionally, I regularly work with the firm’s insurance team on cases concerning product quality and insurance coverage.

Defending freedom of expression and the media. I believe that is highly meaningful and important to defend freedom of expression and the media, so one of my key focus areas is media law and defamation cases. One of the most significant projects I have been involved in is a dispute between journalists and the Lithuanian Government concerning possible violation of freedom of information. I have also worked with defamation cases involving well-known Lithuanian entrepreneurs.

Restructuring and Insolvency. As a member of the firm’s Restructuring and insolvency team, I have gained solid experience advising on various insolvency matters, such as the role of the administrator and grounds for their compulsory retirement, confirmation of estimates and costs actually incurred and coverage of costs. My expertise in this field can help protect the rights of creditors in complex insolvency procedures.

Assisting health care service providers and their patients. The health law field is particularly interesting because it concerns not only the rights of individual entities but also the public interest. My latest work in this field involved representing clients of a plastic surgery clinic in the pre-trial investigation of a case about a major breach of highly sensitive personal data.
