Sorainen Arbitration Series is a series of interviews to be released until the end of 2020 with Arbitration Institutions, which are of particular interest to users from Baltics and Belarus.

Alexey Anischenko, Sorainen partner in Belarus and head of international arbitration, explains how did the idea of the project come out:

«Clients keep asking which arbitration institution to opt for in their contracts in times of crisis, so we thought it would be helpful and mutually beneficial to bring institutions closer to their clients. Naturally we decided to start with the institutions that are the top choice in our home jurisdictions – the Baltics and Belarus – according to our own experience. But we will be closely looking for feedback from the audience and will be happy to invite more institutions for similar interviews.»

Carri Ginter, head of the firm’s Dispute Resolution & Risk Management practice, reflects on the focus audience and potential benefits of this project:

«It will be useful not only for in-house counsel, but for all arbitration practitioners and students interested in arbitration to build on the insights kindly provided by leading arbitration institutions. One important aspect is to show the human faces behind the rules and statistics, which is particularly important nowadays, when social contacts are limited.»

The first interview in the Sorainen Arbitration Series has just been released on our Youtube-channel and we are delighted to introduce to you our first guest – Alice Fremuth-Wolf, Secretary General of the Vienna International Arbitral Centre (VIAC).
