We advised financial investor Neverest Capital on the sale of part of its stake in Credit Union Saulėgrąža to Polish private equity fund Enterprise Investors Fund IX and the Fund’s EUR 21.8 million investment into the Credit Union. Following completion, Neverest Capital will remain a minority shareholder in Saulėgrąža.
Saulėgrąža is one of the largest credit unions in Lithuania, with assets exceeding EUR 80 million. Having operated as a licensed Lithuanian credit union since 2012 under the supervision of the Bank of Lithuania, Saulėgrąža will pursue a full banking licence. The investment will support its transformation into a fully licensed bank specialising in financing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Poland.
The transaction remains subject to regulatory approvals.
