We advised startup Teachers Lead Tech on attracting investment from venture capital fund CoInvest Capital and angel investors. The Lithuanian start-up is developing a technological literacy and creativity learning platform for primary school teachers.

The startup team consists of twelve education and technology professionals. A large team of mentors and lecturers from various technology companies also joined the project.

Solution been tested by 750 Lithuanian teachers

Teachers Lead Tech aims to introduce technological creativity skills in schools and to help teachers to master new technologies and pass these skills on to children. By using the learning platform, teachers gain access to a coherent and personalised learning path suitable for both beginners and more advanced users.

The pilot version of the Teachers Lead Tech solution was launched in spring 2020. The solution has already been tested by 750 Lithuanian teachers, who are passing on the new knowledge to fifteen thousand children. The goal of the startup founders is to reach one million primary school teachers worldwide and 20 million young creative technologists by 2025.

Comments Monika Katkutė-Gelžinė, the founder of Teachers Lead Tech: “For five years our team worked at the Academy of Technological Creativity for Children, where more than a thousand children were training their skills every week. I realised that for the basic technological creative skills to reach every child, regardless of their gender, economic situation or place of residence, we must first work with teachers.”

Well-known angel investors stand behind the startup

Along with CoInvest Capital, numerous angel investors also invested in the company. Among them are Vladas Lašas (Urgent Shipments), Mantas Mikuckas (Vinted), Milda Mitkutė (Vinted), Tesonet, Tomas Balžekas (Media Bees), Maksim Golivkin (Instacart), Vertex, Andrius Šlimas (Oberlo) and Tomas Dirvonskas.
