Following ERGO’s acquisition of Gjensidige’s Baltic business earlier this year, ERGO Insurance SE has successfully completed its cross-border merger with Akcinė draudimo bendrovė Gjensidige. The merger was registered with the Estonian Commercial Register on 1 November 2026.

As a result of the merger, Gjensidige has been dissolved without liquidation and all of its assets, rights and liabilities, including its insurance portfolio and Baltic operations, have transferred to ERGO Insurance SE by way of universal legal succession. ERGO continues its operations in Lithuania and Latvia through its local branches.

The merger brings the former ERGO and Gjensidige non-life insurance businesses in the Baltics under ERGO Insurance SE, creating a single pan-Baltic insurance structure and strengthening ERGO’s position as one of the largest insurers in the Baltics.
