Now more than ever, entrepreneurs need fast and experienced advice, so that they can survive the crisis, restructure their business if needed, open up new products and services, take care of their employees and make the right business decisions at a critical time.

Sorainen’s Corporate and M&A practice welcomes two renowned experts, Pirkko-Liis Harkmaa and Lauri Liivat, making our services even faster, broader and more efficient for our clients.

Before joining Sorainen, Pirkko-Liis Harkmaa worked at her own law firm and before that for 20 years in one of the top three law firms in the Baltics where she worked her way up to partnership and headed various practice groups and teams in her fields of expertise for the past 10 years. She has advised both local and international clients from diverse industries in day to day matters as well as in more extensive reorganization projects and cross-border transactions. Her primary focus is on labour law. Pirkko-Liis serves on the Estonian Bar Association’s ethics and methodology committee since 2009 and employment law committee since 2020.

Lauri Liivat has advised clients for nearly 15 years, starting in a small firm and seeing it grow into an international law firm. Before joining Sorainen, Lauri was a partner in KPMG Law. Throughout his career he has been involved in a large number of international and local transactions, including several top-value transactions in Estonia and the Baltic region. His special area of interest is the fast-evolving technology and startup sector. He has a solid understanding of the startup companies’ needs in various development phases and has extensive experience in advising them on both fundraising and daily activities.

„We are glad to welcome such accomplished lawyers in the Sorainen team. Our firm has long focused on employment relations and the startup sector, but during those complicated times clients need an even more complex support system. We have long known Pirkko-Liis and Lauri and appreciate their vision in developing their fields of expertise, which is perfectly in line with Sorainen’s long-term strategy,” Country Managing Partner Toomas Prangli said.
