Sorainen advised Delfi, Latvia’s leading digital media company, on the acquisition of the the training company Baltijas Datoru Akadēmija (BDA). BDA is a subsidiary of Tet and one of the largest training centres in the Baltics. This move marks Delfi’s transformation from a traditional news media outlet into a comprehensive digital knowledge and services ecosystem.
With this deal, Delfi launches a vocational education business that will complement its existing range of digital content, subscriptions and events. BDA’s more than 30 years of experience in the sector will allow the two companies to create new synergies and develop innovative formats, from face-to-face training to digital learning programmes, while diversifying the company’s revenue streams into the growing EdTech sector.

We advised the client on all matters related to the transaction, including conducting comprehensive legal due diligence on the target company, as well as negotiating and signing the transaction documentation.
