We advised Medicum Group and Livonia on the acquisition of the private clinic Fertilitas. As a result of the transaction, the group will become a healthcare organisation with more than 700 employees.
The strategic acquisition is beneficial for patients as well
Following the transaction, Medicum will become the largest contractual partner of the Health Insurance Fund among private healthcare providers of specialised medical care, offering diagnostic and treatment services across 18 medical specialities.
“We have worked closely together for years, and this merger is the logical next step. With the addition of Fertilitas, we are creating strong synergy across several treatment areas, as our competencies in surgical specialties, rehabilitation and radiology complement each other,” said Tõnis Allik, member of the management board of Medicum Group.
With Fertilitas joining the group, Medicum will gain four specialised outpatient care centres, as well as a modern hospital with an operating theatre unit in Viimsi. All nine Medicum and Fertilitas centres in Tallinn, Harju County and Tartu will remain open for patients.
The transaction will enter into force following approval by the Competition Authority. By agreement between the parties, the details of the transaction will not be disclosed.
