About me
Having joined Sorainen in 2020, I advise both local and international clients as an associate in the firm’s Competition and Regulatory team on a wide range of legal matters.
My daily work includes drafting, negotiating and analysing both general and sector-specific commercial agreements, as well as identifying and addressing related risks. I also support clients in navigating industry-specific regulatory frameworks, with experience in, among others, the defence sector and IT law.
Professional highlights
Various commercial and service agreements. I work extensively with a broad range of commercial and service agreements, focusing on drafting, negotiation and substantive legal analysis. My primary focus is on identifying and addressing contractual risks to ensure clients can enter into business relationships on commercially sound and balanced terms, with a clear allocation of responsibilities. I have broad experience with general sales and service agreements and sector-specific contracts, including licensing, SaaS and other technology-related arrangements, and contracts in the defence and life sciences and healthcare sectors. I also assist clients in contract-related disputes, both in national courts and in arbitration.
Regulatory and sector-specific matters. I advise clients on a wide range of regulatory issues across multiple sectors, taking into account both local and European Union legal frameworks, as well as regulatory guidance, expectations, and general market practices. My experience includes, among others, advisory on strategic goods control (including export and import licensing), consumer protection and e-commerce, data protection, cybersecurity and direct marketing requirements, medical law, and the interpretation and application of obligations related to artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies.
Experience during studies. Prior to joining Sorainen, I gained experience through internships at the Supreme Court of Estonia and with another law firm’s dispute resolution team. As a student, I represented the University of Tartu at the 28th Willem C. Vis Moot Court Competition, gaining valuable experience in international commercial law. My master’s thesis focused on analysing the procedural balance between originator and generic pharmaceutical manufacturers in patent enforcement and litigation, providing a strong foundation in medical law and dispute resolution, which I continue to apply in advising clients. I am also a graduate of the Sorainen Student Academy 2019/2020.
