We are pleased to share that our partner Piret Jesse has been chosen to serve as the chairwoman of the Commercial Law Committee of the Estonian Bar Association. Piret also serves on the board of the Estonian Bar Association and acts as an expert on the Corporate Law Audit Committee of the Ministry of Justice.

Sorainen’s long term contribution

Our specialists have been contributing to the work of the Commercial Law Committee of the Estonian Bar Association since it’s creation in 2013. For the past 7 years our partner Karin Madisson has served as it’s chairwoman, now handing the position over to Jesse, and continuing as a regular member of the committee herself.

Advisory role in commercial law issues

The Commercial Law Committee is a committee formed on the basis of the Code of Procedure of the Estonian Bar Association with the aim of assisting and advising the organisations and members of the Bar Association in law-making and practical issues relating commercial law, the analysis of the relevant legislation and legal practices, and the drafting of amendments.

Contributing in several fields

Other members of our team represented in committees of the Estonian Bar Association are partners Kaupo Lepasepp (Administrative Law Committee), Allar Jõks (Fundamental Rights Committee), Mihkel Miidla (Intellectual Property and IT Law Committee), counsel Pirkko-Liis Harkmaa (Ethics and Methodology Committee and Employment Law Committee), senior associate Piibe Lehtsaar (Competition Law Committee) and senior associate Maria Pihlak (Ethics and Methodology Committee).

The Estonian Bar Association, established in 1919, is a self-governing professional association acting on local government administrative principles for the organisation of the provision of legal service in private and public interest and defending the professional rights of attorneys.

We wish Piret luck!
