Sorainen Belarus acted as local counsel for Czech Export Bank (CEB) in a project financing transaction. CEB provided a facility of EUR 10.8 million to Belarusian state owned enterprise Grodnoenergo to purchase technological equipment from Czech producer Mavel for construction of a hydro power station in Grodno. The Sorainen team was tasked with drafting security documentation and commenting on financing agreements governed by foreign law. CEB is one of the largest banking institutions in the Czech Republic, fully owned by the state and specialising in financial support of exports from the Czech Republic. The client was advised by Sorainen partner Kiryl Apanasevich.
