About the case
The matter concerned a service contract related to online gaming operations. We argued our client’s case to the Latvian court according to Maltese law. Situations of this kind are becoming more common: when claims in Latvian courts must be argued according to foreign laws and expert opinions from other countries. This also proves the saying iura novit curia, i.e. “the court knows the law”, that Latvian courts can also adjudicate matters fairly and objectively, irrespective of the applicable law. Through careful preparation and productive negotiations, we facilitated a court-approved settlement that suited our client’s interests and financial concerns. The resolution provided a clear and equitable outcome for all the parties involved.
