About me
I am a senior associate leading the firm’s Procurement and Public Litigation teams in Latvia. I deliver the best attainable results in public procurement, EU law and other public law litigation, even when the solution lies in lobbying.
Professional highlights
Disputes with the Latvian government. I help public and private sector clients develop and implement strategies during EU and public law disputes. During my 15 years in law, I have represented clients during key disputes on market access, public procurement, tariff regulation, personal data protection (GDPR), and state liability. The Constitutional Court of Latvia regularly invites me to provide expert opinion in cases concerning EU law issues.
Leading public procurement practice. In addition to litigation, clients seek my support on procurement strategy and advisory matters. I actively contribute to legislative development through my role on the Public Procurement Committee of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In this capacity, clients recognise me as a lawyer who combines in-depth legal analysis with pragmatic, business-oriented solutions.
European context. Improving governance and persuading courts and decision-makers is only possible in a European and global context. I worked as an associate with the law firm Sidley Austin in Brussels, studied world trade and investment law at Georgetown Law in Washington D.C., advised the European Economic and Social Committee, and contributed to the European Commission as a representative on the Stakeholder Expert Group on Public Procurement. Consequently, I can do my best to ensure every client has access to the best global tools and practices available to help them succeed.
Academic expertise. My guiding principle in disputes – and the focus of my academic research – is the freedom to conduct business. I regularly present on the topic and related fields at academic and business conferences.
