About me

I am an attorney specialising in dispute resolution. The fields that I find especially engaging and which keep me professionally focused are international arbitration and white collar crime investigations. I strongly believe in finding the right long term strategy for clients’ business needs and applying common sense in solutions to seemingly complex problems.

Professional highlights

Representing clients in international disputes. I represented one of the largest European insurance groups in achieving a successful result in international commercial arbitration (SCC) concerning a post-acquisition dispute arising out of seller’s breach of warranties.

I was also part of the legal team representing Lithuanian investor E-Energija, I contributed to winning a favourable award against the Republic of Latvia in its first investment arbitration case at the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) in Washington, DC..

Fighting corporate crime. I represent Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks Corporation with law enforcement institutions regarding illegal use of the client’s software.

I advised one of the largest IT companies in the region and prepared a contingency plan for emergency situations with regard to the company’s vulnerabilities due to bribery committed by an ex-employee in another jurisdiction. I have also helped numerous companies that have fallen victim to fraud or cybercrime, in asset tracing, asset-freezing and asset recovery.

Pharma sector knowledge. I have assisted stakeholders in negotiations and establishing the Latvian Medicines Verification Organisation (LZVO) and have the privilege of continuing to assist the LZVO in implementing the Falsified Medicines Directive and creating Latvian Medicines Verification System.
