We provided advisory services to the largest Polish bank, PKO Bank Polski (PKO PB), in establishing a representative office in Lithuania.
According to Marek Radzikowski, the bank’s vice-president responsible for operations and international banking, PKO PB’s strategy involves opening eight new foreign units by 2027: four branches and four representative offices. In choosing Lithuania, the bank considered a wide range of indicators, from macroeconomic to microeconomic, and analysed the activities of companies operating in these markets.
PKO PB is a leading financial institution in its home market in terms of the scale of its operations, equity, loans and savings, the number of its customers, and the size of distribution network.
The Lithuanian authorities stressed that the arrival of a Polish bank would mean more competition, new opportunities, and greater confidence in the Lithuanian economy.
