About me
As a member of the firms’ Dispute Resolution & Risk Management practice group, I primarily focus on advising clients in the fields of energy, industry, and trade and consumer goods. My legal education acquired in Estonia is complemented by a master’s degree in European Law and work experience in the EU institutions.
Professional highlights
Expert in European Union law. I have worked at the European Court of Justice and at the European Court of Auditors. I obtained my second master’s degree in European law at the College of Europe. In addition, I have studied the European Union and International law at the University of Nantes. With this knowledge, I have helped clients in disputes both before the European Court of Justice and the European Court of Human Rights, and in European Union regulatory and state aid matters.
Constitutional law. I have been involved in the team representing clients in disputes concerning the constitutionality of amendments to legislation.
Empowering students and young colleagues. Mentoring and empowering students and young colleagues is my passion and hobby. I have been an associate lecturer for various European Union law related courses at the University of Tartu for many years. Since the successful representation of the University of Tartu in the European law moot court competition (in 2018), I have also given lectures to encourage law faculty students to improve their skills and participate in moot court competitions. I have also managed the Sorainen Student Academy. In cooperation with the European Law Students Association (ELSA), we have held lectures and prepared materials to spread practical legal knowledge among high school students. With the aim of encouraging law students to benefit from activities outside the university, I worked on the board and audit committee of ELSA Tallinn and ELSA Estonia
