About me

I represent clients in intellectual property disputes in Estonia, with a focus on patent and trade mark litigation.

I act for both businesses and individuals in matters where intellectual property rights, commercial interests and reputation are at stake. I also represent clients in immigration disputes and civil litigation, drawing on broad courtroom experience in complex cases.

Professional highlights

Intellectual property litigation. I have acted as lead counsel in multiple patent disputes and represent clients in trade mark, copyright and design litigation before civil courts. My work often involves complex, commercially significant matters, including disputes in which intellectual property rights are closely linked to brand value, market position, and competitive dynamics. In such cases, strategy, evidence and timing are decisive. I coordinate litigation strategy, prepare key submissions and represent clients in court. In cross-border disputes, I ensure that Estonian proceedings align with the broader European litigation strategy.

Immigration litigation. I represent companies in proceedings related to the employment of foreign nationals and challenge administrative fines imposed by the Police and Border Guard Board. I also represent individuals in visa and residence permit disputes, including matters involving the risk of expulsion and entry bans. In urgent cases, I have secured interim relief to prevent removal from Estonia.

Civil and administrative litigation. I represent clients in civil litigation, including sales and service contract disputes. I have also acted in administrative matters, including public procurement disputes and COVID-19-related litigation, and have represented clients before the Supreme Court of Estonia. I conduct court proceedings, including witness examination and evidentiary hearings, and regularly handle complex disputes involving both legal and factual issues.

Academic engagement. I teach contract law at the University of Tartu, focusing on dispute resolution and legal argumentation, and coach students for international moot court competitions, including the Willem C. Vis Moot Court Competition. I am also completing a doctoral thesis on copyright in the context of public procurement. Working with students and developing their legal reasoning and advocacy skills is an important part of my professional life. In 2022, law students voted me the most inspiring lecturer.
