All stages covered. I have worked on company acquisitions and joint ventures, taking part in all stages of a transaction: negotiating letters of intent, conducting legal due diligence, drafting and negotiating transaction documents, and finally assisting with both closing and post-closing matters to ensure smooth integration.

Resolving consumer disputes. Before joining Sorainen, I worked at another law firm for nine years and during that time co-chaired the consumer dispute resolution committee of the Estonian Consumer Protection Board.

Historic transactions. I have been privileged to be a part of many of the landmark merger cases in the Baltics, including Nordea and DNB combining their Baltic operations to create Luminor bank. I was also on the team, which provided comprehensive legal assistance to PZU in acquiring Baltic insurers Lietuvos draudimas (Lithuania), Balta (Latvia) and Codan Forsikring (Estonia) from RSA Insurance Group, notifying the acquisition to the Council, separating PZU Group’s operations in Latvia and Estonia and transferring shares in PZU Lietuva to Norwegian insurance company Gjensidige Forsikring. I was one of the team leaders advising Mehiläinen, the leading private provider of healthcare and social services in Finland, on the acquisition of occupational healthcare provider Qvalitas Arstikeskus and dental care chain Unimed Grupp.

M&A expert: having been active in M&A practice for many years, I have a good understanding of the transaction cycle and the needs of clients at different stages of the process. Taking advantage of my extensive vast experience, I have contributed to the development of our M&A practice by preparing relevant transaction documents as well as process documentation with the objective of providing an efficient service to our clients. I also consider it important to pass on my experience in M&A to younger colleagues by involving them in projects and lecturing internally on M&A topics.
